Thursday turned out to be a beautiful day for the celebrities to come out and play.

The Annual Fore for Pets celebrity golf tournament for the Prince Albert SPCA was once again held at Cooke Municipal Golf Course.

Celebrities from all over the continent came to help out the local organization—many of which were new faces to the game, according to executive director Debbie Lehner.

“It was a spectacular day and we’re just really, really thrilled with the turnout and it’s been very, very positive comments. It’s a little bit sad that it’s our last golf tournament, you know, that we’ve been doing for five years,” Lehner said.

The group of 18 included Olympians Amy Gough and Michelle Kelly, pro golfers Geoff Freeborn and Stuart Anderson, Playboy models Elle Patille and Jessica Canizales, and actors Kristen Renton from Sons of Anarchy and Martin Klebba from Pirates of the Carribean to name a few.

Singer Charlie Major, comedian Kelly Taylor and Justin Rain from Twilight, represented the local celebs.

The annual tournament will wrap for the final time after five years. The money raised from the event, as part of the New Leash on Life campaign, made the opening of the new SPCA possible.

“It’s just been one of the biggest fundraisers we’ve ever done. A lot of volunteers; 60 volunteers involved to pull this off, not to mention the committee and of course all the teams that support it. I look back and it’s really, really humbling to see the support of the community for something like this,” she said.

Although this event is done, Lehner said they look forward to all of the future fundraisers for the SPCA.
