Farmers in the east central and northeast regions of the province have made some great strides in the past week.

According to this week’s crop report, 94 per cent of the crop in the northeast is in the ground, and 91 per cent is complete in the east central region.

This compares to the provincial average of 94 per cent.

Cooler temperatures and rain during the past week have slowed field operations in some areas of the province; however, seeding progress is still ahead of the five-year (2011-2015) average of 77 per cent for this time of year.
