New eight-bedroom group home coming to La Ronge for Northsask Special Needs
Saskatchewan Housing Corporation plans to build an eight-bedroom group home with four self-contained suites for adults with intellectual disabilities in La Ronge.
The location of the facility will be located along Robertson Drive near the site of a 10-unit senior complex set to open this spring. According to an email from Ministry of Social Services Director of Communications Andrew Dinsmore to larongeNOW, the residential care home will be operated by Norsask Special Needs Housing (NSN), which will provide 24-hour on-site support for residents.
“The group home portion of the home will support individuals requiring higher levels of support including 24-hour supervision and assistance with tasks associated with daily living,” he stated. “The self-contained suites would be used for individuals who are more independent and require less support.”
