RCMP investigating break-ins in Smeaton, Choiceland

Feb 26, 2019 | 10:05 AM

RCMP are investigating a series of break-ins in two local-area communities recently.

Police said in a release that civic buildings in both Smeaton and Choiceland were broken into Dec. 4. In Smeaton, the village office, Legion hall and recreation centre all experienced break-ins and minor damage. In Choiceland, the curling rink, library, seniors hall and town office were broken into after thieves forced the doors open, causing damage to the entrances.

RCMP believe the same people broke into buildings in both communities and used a vehicle to travel between Smeaton and Choiceland. Anyone with information about the break-ins is asked to contact RCMP or Saskatchewan Crimestoppers.
