Sinkhole opens up on Rotary Trail

Users of Prince Albert’s Rotary Trail will have to make a short detour, if they are heading west past sixth Ave. W.

A sinkhole has formed near the water treatment plant, as a result of an underground storm water pipe collapsing. The sinkhole was about 10-feet wide as of Friday afternoon.

The affected area has being barricaded off by the city. Once spring run-off subsides, crews will be able to plan for an excavation and repair of the pipe and trail.
