Man charged in Kinistin assaults has case adjourned once more

Mar 26, 2019 | 1:23 PM

A man accused of a series of assaults on Kinistin First Nation had his case adjourned for one more week.

Keenan Scott requested one more updated bail verification report, as he spoke with his sister in Saskatoon and believes he can stay at her residence.

Candace Bodnar, a lawyer for Legal Aid Saskatchewan, said this is after the realization that his home community is not ready to take him back yet.

Thomas Healey, Crown prosecutor, said the Crown is fine with it.

Tisdale RCMP officers were dispatched Jan. 16 after receiving a report of an intoxicated male going from home to home on Kinistin First Nation and committing assaults. Scott was arrested and charged with break and enter, aggravated assault, assault causing bodily harm and uttering threats.

Scott will appear in Melfort Provincial Court in person on April 2 for a show cause hearing.
