Spayed Pets are Happy Pets

Upcoming Vet Clinic – Reasons to Spay Pets

Apr 5, 2019 | 10:17 AM

Has your pet been spayed or neutered?

You’re in luck!

It’s only 6 WEEKS until our biannual vet clinic on May 10-12th and we want to remind the Tri-Community about the importance of spaying/neutering your pet.

The vet clinic offers both spay/neuter services and wellness checkups right here in the Tri-Community.

Our statistics show that over 50% of the animals brought into our care are intact.

Why is this a problem?

The Tri-Community area suffers from overpopulation due to roaming intact animals.

This means that half of the animals that have come into our care have the ability to reproduce.

By leaving your animals intact, the overpopulation problem continues to increase, resulting in unwanted and stray animals.

The solution – spay and neuter. Spaying and neutering not only decreases unplanned litters, but it also has many health benefits for your furry friends!

You are probably thinking “spaying and neutering is too expensive.”

NAR can help!

The WCVM provides spay/neuter services at a lower cost than southern clinics – especially when you factor in transportation costs down south, time off work and medical fees to get your animal fixed.

If you get a puppy or kitten, please make sure to talk to a veterinarian immediately to determine the best time to spay or neuter your pet.
