If you’re out and about this afternoon, as well as running into tomorrow, there’s a chance you may be stopped.

Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan is hosting a Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) blitz today and tomorrow in the North Battleford area.

In a release, the Saskatchewan RCMP said that the two-day initiative will take place at various locations around North Battleford and its surrounding communities.

“Enforcement activities will focus on offences related to speeding, distracted driving, seatbelt use, unlicensed drivers and commercial vehicle standards. As usual, impaired driving enforcement will be a top priority,” the release said.

STEP is a task force dedicated to improving traffic safety across Saskatchewan. Members include municipal police agencies, the RCMP, Saskatchewan Highway Patrol, Canadian National and Canadian Pacific Police, and representatives from SGI and the Ministries of Justice and Finance.
