KTF Properties co-owner states fence issue ‘should have never gotten this far’
La Ronge Community Planner Abby Besharah wants the public to know there is no intent to restrict public access to the lake with the partial closing of Tremblay Street.
The matter was talked about at length during a regular town council meeting Wednesday, when representatives from Carlson Fish Products brought up concerns about council’s plan to enact a bylaw to close the road. Coun. Jordan McPhail stated the bylaw had to be made so KTF Properties could keep a fence which was built on public land without a permit. The Carlson representatives wanted assurance they would be able to use the lakeshore as their family has for more than 60 years.
“There is zero intent to restrict any access down there,” Besharah said. “It will not look any different after this happens. The town is not developing the roadway itself.”
