Police searching for two men after assault, shooting at home in Meadow Lake

Police are searching for two male suspects after an assault and shooting at a home in Meadow Lake.

Police said in a press release they were called for a report of two people entering a home at around 2:30 a.m. on June 6 and assaulting and shooting one person twice at close range before fleeing.

The victim remains in hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A warrant has been issued for 18-year-old Ricky Lafond in relation to the incident. He is charged with a number of weapons and assault charges.

Meadow Lake RCMP Police Dog Services, detachment members, Meadow Lake General Investigation Services, and the North Battleford RCMP Forensic Identification Unit are assisting with the investigation.
