The boys in black are coming back to Prince Albert.

The New Zealand Under-14 Softball Academy will head to Max Power Ball Parks on July 18 to take on the Prince Albert Under-14 Astros in a friendly double-header.

“It’s just a game to get the boys together and give them some international experience, because we all hope that our boys become national players,” Astros fundraising coordinator Jackie Everest said.

This isn’t the first time the Developing Sox have come to Prince Albert, as they came in last year but didn’t play against the Astros, according to Everest.

The visit to Prince Albert is part of New Zealand’s eight-game tour across Saskatchewan.

They’ll be in Saskatoon to take on the Fury Selects on July 17, in Prince Albert for the two-game set in P.A. on July 18, in Shellbrook for a two-gamer against the Rangers on July 19 and July 21 to face the Sask. Prairie Selects in La Ronge.

“We hope to win,” Everest said. “We want some people to come out and support our youth.”
