Alcohol believed to be a factor in fatal collision near Shell Lake
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in a motor vehicle collision near Shell Lake, which resulted in the death of a woman.
Around 10:30 p.m. on July 5, Spiritwood RCMP attended the scene of a two-motor vehicle collision on the intersection of Highway 3 and 12.
A westbound vehicle was making a left turn onto Highway 12 and was hit by an eastbound vehicle, according to police.
The passenger of the westbound vehicle, a 33-year-old woman, was pronounced deceased after arriving at Shellbrook Hospital. The driver of the westbound vehicle, a 23-year-old man, was transported by STARS air ambulance to Saskatoon Royal University Hospital to be treated for undetermined injuries. The 20-year-old driver of the eastbound vehicle was treated on scene for minor injuries and was released.
