M.L. Sox knocked out of NSRBL playoffs
The playoffs are over for the Meadow Lake Sr. White Sox after a second game loss to the Border City Blue Jays.
The Sox played their second playoff game on July 9 which ended with a 9-3 loss. The Jays led the game after scoring three runs in the first inning and continued to widen the gap to 5-0 in the second inning with the Jays’ Landon Noyes hitting a home run.
Nathan Dancy was able to get two points for the Sox in the fifth inning but the Jays continued to score runs and ended the inning at 8-2. First baseman Owen Dancy said they felt better about this game than their first game in the series.
“Our bats were pretty good tonight aside from the fact that we stranded a lot of runners so that hurt us,” Dancy said. “We probably could have made it 8-8 if we scored the 10 or 11 guys that we left on base throughout the game. It’s just one of those things that we’ve got to tighten up and be ready when we go to the plate and hit the ball when we have the chance.”
