Naicam to hold Viking Stomp in conjunction with local slo-pitch tournament

The Naicam and District Community Council is holding a new fundraiser on Saturday, July 27.

The Naicam Viking Stomp is a concert in Naicam that will feature Constant Reminder this year. Community Council Chair Tracie Jame said they wanted to do a big event in the town.

“It’s to fundraise for our community for sports, recreation, and community events,” she said. “And to support our local clubs.”

The concert is run this year in conjunction with the Tiffany Guttormson Memorial Slo-Pitch tournament. It’s the third year for that tournament as the family has hosted it in memory of their daughter. James said they planned the event purposely in conjunction with the tournament.

“We thought it would be just perfect to put that event on with that ball tournament,” James told northeastNOW.

James added they have a few different things on their minds that they want to fundraise for. Some things include a Centennial Park to go along with Naicam’s 100th birthday, and a BMX hill for the kids around town.

As for the concert on July 27, it will go rain or shine as James said they do have tents if need be. Tickets are $25.
