Aquatic centre to host Shark Week themed activities

The Discovery Channel will not be the only ones celebrating Shark Week.

The Battlefords CO-OP Aquatic Centre is hosting two Shark Week themed events on Wednesday and Thursday.

On July 24, they will present the film The Meg and invite anyone aged 13 and over, or anyone with adult supervision, to bring something to float on and venture out into the pool to watch the thrilling shark movie.

Regular admission will apply or people can come to the public swim and stay for the movie.

“We provide some floaties or folks can bring their own and we’ll blow it up for them. I promise no sharknanigans – I won’t dye the pool red or have scuba divers swim underneath movie watchers! Just come and float, hot tub, and enjoy the movie,” Program Director Candace Dustan said.

The following day from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. will be the Sharktastic Family Swim that will include shark themed activities such as shark races, a fish pond, crafts, games, and prizes.
