BID Fall Festival coming to North Battleford in September

There will be a party on the streets of downtown North Battleford Sept. 14 when the Business Improvement District (BID) holds its annual Fall Festival.

The event will include a stage with live music, food vendors, a beer garden, a pie-making contest, a chili cook-off, a sidewalk sale, vendors’ tables, and even a petting zoo. The festival will also feature a car show for auto buffs to take in.

“There is something for everyone,” BID Executive Director Misty Lavertu said. “I’m hoping it will be nice and packed, and we will have lots of people come out, and have that community-feel.”

Last year the event was rained-out so Lavertu hopes for better weather this time.

The BID non-profit group aims to encourage community members to come downtown and get to know some of the local businesses.

The local Farmer’s Market will relocate to 101 Street for the day.

The festival will also include a Kids’ Zone activity area, as well as free face-painting sessions.

The event will also feature a number of home-based businesses and artisan displays.

For the musical entertainment, five acts will take part, including Zayda, as well as some powwow dancers.

The area will be closed to traffic along 101 Street, from 11 to 13 Avenues, during the festival. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
