City of Melfort to hold ‘Community Connections’ on Wednesday

With school back in session, fall activities will kick into gear very shortly.

To help with deciding on what to do this season, the City of Melfort is hosting Community Connections on Wednesday, Sept. 3 at the Kerry Vickar Centre.

“We’ve invited all of the organizations and groups that provide programming in the city,” Director of Development and Community Planning Brent Lutz said. “Sports, culture, recreation, but also other groups that do social work and social activities.”

The event replaces the former city wide registration that would normally take place around the same time. Those in attendance can ask questions about the different groups and activities, as well as register for them.

Lutz added it’s not just an event to find activities for the children.

“Maybe they want to volunteer, maybe they want to join a club,” he said. “Maybe they want to take an activity or learn something new. It’s for kids, it’s for families, it’s for adults, it’s for seniors. There will be something for everyone.”

The event takes place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
