Cole Bay man charged in fatal hit and run
A 52-year-old man is dead after he was struck by vehicle on Highway 965 near Canoe Narrows.
According to an RCMP media release, Beavual RCMP responded to a report of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle on Sept. 22 at approximately 5:11 a.m. The driver, a 28-year-old male, left the scene but was located at a residence in Canoe Narrows and arrested without incident. RCMP do not anticipate releasing the name of the victim.
North Battleford RCMP Forensic Identification Services, Saskatchewan RCMP Traffic Reconstruction Unit and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service attended and processed the collision scene. Patuanak and Buffalo Narrows RCMP also attended and assisted.
As a result of the investigation, Alec Bouvier of Cole Bay has been charged with impaired operation over 80 causing death, impaired operation of conveyance, fail to stop at a scene causing bodily harm and operation of a conveyance while prohibited.
