A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for a man wanted in connection to the death of a Big Island Lake Cree Territory man.

Charges against Jonathan Dufraine have also been upgraded to second-degree murder from manslaughter in relation to the death of Zane Kiseyinewakup.

Saskatchewan RCMP are looking for any information on Dufraine’s whereabouts and two missing vehicles involved in the incident.

Officers are looking for a silver 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe XL V6 AWD SUV with Saskatchewan licence plate 411 KIZ. The SUV is reported to be dirty with damage to the bumpers. Police are also looking for a grey four-door 1996 Chevrolet Lumina with Saskatchewan license plate 077 LPV.

However, police said it is unknown what, if any, vehicle he may be driving.

RCMP said Dufraine has not been seen and no new information has come in since the last confirmed sighting on the Big Island Lake Cree Territory on Oct. 2, the day of Kiseyinewakup’s death.

Police said Dufraine has made no contact with friends or family since he was last seen. This is unusual behaviour and investigators now have concern for his well-being.

Dufraine is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.

If he is spotted, people are asked to call 911 immediately. Anyone with any information is urged to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
