Fire destroys car in Humboldt

The investigation is underway into a vehicle fire in Humboldt.

Fire crews were called just before 1 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11 for a vehicle fire just off Main Street.

“When our crews arrived, we did find a fully involved vehicle in the parking lot that was next to a couple other cars,” Fire Chief Mike Kwasnica said, adding a second vehicle was impacted by the fire.

The blaze took about an hour to extinguish.

Kwasnica said the cause of the fire is still being determined.

“We’re doing a fire investigation along with the RCMP and trying to determine a reason for the fire,” he said.

The fire could have been a lot worse had the parking lot been full, but Kwasnica said thankfully the lot was mostly empty.
