One person injured in Melfort crash

A three-vehicle collision in Melfort today has led to injuries.

The incident happened at the intersection of Assiniboia St. and Burrows Ave. E. at 12:15 p.m.

The Melfort Fire Department, Melfort Ambulance and RCMP all responded to the call.

Fire Chief Jason Everitt told northeastNOW that the cause of the crash is not yet known.

“As we’re all well aware, these intersections are fairly slippery and whether or not that was a factor in [the collision] I’m not sure, but it was fairly slick,” Everitt said.

One person received minor injuries in the collision, and was taken to hospital for further assessment.

Everitt said emergency crews were on scene for about 45 minutes.
