Collision at Brunswick and Sask. Drive results in minor injuries

Two people sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle collision in Melfort yesterday afternoon.

The two vehicles collided at the intersection of Saskatchewan Drive and Brunswick St. around 3:45 p.m.

Melfort Fire and Rescue reported in a Facebook post that crews responded to the crash where they established a safe traffic management plan, neutralized one vehicle, managed spilled fluids to the roadway and cleaned up debris.

The two occupants of the smaller vehicle had minor injuries. There are no other known details.

It was a very busy 12 hours for Melfort’s emergency crews with that being third major incident on Monday. In the early morning hours, crews were dispatched to a garage fire on Higgins Ave. W. There were no injuries in the fire but the garage was a total loss.

The fire was followed by another crash on the 500 block of Main Street just before 10 a.m., where a truck crossed the center line and collided with a parked SUV. One person was sent to hospital as a result of the collision.
