North Stars travel to Melfort for showdown of league’s top two teams
There may be eleven points in the standings separating the Battlefords North Stars and Melfort Mustangs atop the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) standings, but Friday night should prove a two-horse race for two points.
The North Stars enter action Friday night riding a 13-game winning streak, with a league-best 20-1 record through their opening 21 contests.
The team will look to continue their torrent pace against a second-place Mustangs club who are 13-5-3.
Friday’s matchup will mark the second meeting of the season-series between the two teams.
