Vigilance recommended after attempted phone fraud in Wadena

Police are cautioning the public after a fraud complaint in Wadena.

RCMP received a telephone fraud complaint about a subject stating that he was a representative of the justice department of the RCMP.

The complainant knew Canada Revenue Agency doesn’t call people directly, and suspected a fraud.

Other people were talking in the background during the suspected fraud call, similar to sounds heard in a call centre.
