Police identify body found north of La Ronge

The body of a woman found on Highway 102 north of La Ronge has been identified as 28-year old Sheena Marie Billette.

Billette, who police said is from La Ronge, was discovered by a motorist early Monday morning.

An autopsy is expected to be conducted in the next few days.

RCMP officers from the Regina Major Crimes Unit South, Forensic Identification Unit and La Ronge detachment continue to investigate.

As police work to determine the events over the last week of her life, anyone with information on Billette’s whereabouts, activities and interactions are asked to contact police.

On Facebook, people who knew her expressed grief and disbelief.

“My heart hurts right now why did someone have to do this to you,” wrote Samantha Misponas.

“I’ll always remember that laugh u had and I’ll never forget it. Thx for being there when I needed someone to talk to.”
