Weapon and drug charge in Big River First Nation

RCMP arrested a 32-year-old female after stopping a vehicle on the Big River First Nation in the early hours of this morning.

According to a media release, at 1:30 a.m. police attempted to stop a vehicle. After fleeing from the RCMP the vehicle was later stopped and when officers approached three people ran off.

Soon after the police located a 32-year-old female inside the vehicle.

The police searched it and found a weapon and an amount of crystal meth.

The woman, from Ahtahkakoop First Nation, was arrested and is facing charges of possession of crystal meth and criminal code weapons charges.

She is set to appear in court on March 10 in Big River First Nation.
