Two men arrested after single shot fired near Air Ronge

Two men have been arrested after a complaint regarding a single shot fired from a vehicle in a residential area of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band.

According to an RCMP news release, the shot was fired on the 100 block of Wapos Avenue on Feb. 2 at approximately 1:40 a.m. The vehicle, described as a silver pick-up truck, left the scene and was noted to be traveling westbound after the incident took place. RCMP added there were no injuries sustained and there did not appear to be any damages to homes or other buildings.

Investigators located a vehicle matching the description soon thereafter and two adult males were arrested without incident. Police noted a restricted firearm and ammunition were recovered from the vehicle.

Jarvis Harlin Slinn, 28, of Regina and Ian Andrew McCauley, 30, of La Ronge are charged with using a firearm in the commission of an offence, careless use of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carry a concealed weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited/restricted firearm with ammunition, possession of a weapon obtained by commission of an offence and reckless discharge of a firearm.

Both Slinn and McCauley appeared in La Ronge Provincial Court this morning.
