Bosch’s hat-trick brings Mustangs to third straight win
The Melfort Mustangs got their third win in a row on Tuesday, Feb. 18 in emphatic fashion as they downed the Estevan Bruins 9-2 in Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) action.
From puck drop, Melfort seemed to have control, and did not let go. Kyle Bosch scored his first goal of the night just over two minutes into the game on a powerplay, and Seth McCulloch made it 2-0 not even halfway through the frame. Estevan got one back late as Tanner Manz scored with less than a minute to go, but that’s pretty much as close as Estevan would get in the contest.
Christian Albertson’s ninth of the season, and Bosch’s second of the night made it 4-1 after two periods, and Melfort started to pull away, but not without some beaten and battered players. Austin Nault left for some facial repairs, but did return, and a couple of Mustangs got caught blocking shots, but that didn’t seem to stop Melfort.
Bosch got his hat-trick just 23 seconds into the third to make it 5-1 as Melfort continued the enslaught. Bosch said after a few good games with his linemates Kenzie Arnold and Tian Rask, it was a perfect storm on this night.
