“She would be proud,” Rindal memorial spiel off to a good start
The 1st Annual Deanna Rindal Memorial Open Doubles Spiel had everything that Rindal would have liked.
As the name would suggest, it featured doubles curling which she was a huge supporter of. The spiel also raised well over $1,000 to the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation, in which she was an even bigger supporter of.
All in all, it was a fitting tribute to Rindal, the CurlSask chief umpire that lost her battle to cancer back in November. Those that knew her said she would be proud of the event.
“I’m very sure,” said Pat Bibby, a volunteer and participant of the event. “She really liked doubles, she officiated that at the Continental Cup, She would be proud.”
