Environment Canada predicts diverse forecast in early parts of March
The March forecast is a bit of a mixed bag.
Environment Canada is predicting a warmer than average month, with mild temperatures to start and a blast of cold this upcoming weekend.
“The month of March is usually quite a month of ups and downs. Big temperatures swings and heavier snow falls, we tend to get our heaviest snow falls in the spring and fall,” Meteorologist Terri Lang told paNOW. “We know that March can be quite a changeable month and people should expect that. We know it can get really cold, but we know it can also get very mild.”
Temperatures are expected to hover above or at 0 C for the better part of this week. Despite the mild weather, Lang warned March temperatures can change very quickly.
