P.A. Athletics Club brings home hardware

The Prince Albert Athletics Club took to the track in Edmonton this past weekend.

Over a dozen athletes from the club traveled to the city to compete in the 2020 Alberta Indoor Track and Field Championships.

Raedyn Reddekopp had a strong weekend, taking home five medals, including two silver and two bronze competing in the 400 meter and 150-meter dashes. She medaled in shot put and running long jump.

Reddekopp also had a gold medal in the girls 60-meter dash with a time of 9.23 seconds. P.A.’s Steele Zablocki finished second in the same race clocking in at 9.79 seconds.

Other club members also enjoyed success, with Shelaine Pritchard finishing second in the women’s long jump. Bernard Warner finished third in men’s under 20 long jump.

Club coach Mike Taylor also enjoy success in Edmonton, finishing first in the men’s 35+ masters with a time of 23.78.

The club’s final indoor meet of the season is set for March 13-14 in Saskatoon.
