
Bears beat the Stars, ready for rematch to wrap up regular season
The Prince Albert Northern Bears extended their winning streak to three games after beating the Saskatoon Stars 3-1 on Saturday at the Art Hauser Centre.
The win also breaks the tie for fourth that the Bears and Stars had, vaulting the Bears to 42 points while the Stars will sit on 39. Both teams will play each other once again on Sunday at the Art Hauser Centre to close out their regular seasons. The Bears have beaten the Stars all four times they’ve played each other this year, three times in regulation.
Paige Dawson, Paris Oleksyn both scored in the first period, while Kailey Ledoux added another in the second to give the Bears a 3-0 advantage. Sydney Mercier scored the lone goal for the Stars late in the second period.
Janae Neufeld made 21 saves on 22 shots for the Bears. Arden Kliewer made 40 saves on 43 shots for the Stars.
