The newest inductee into Prince Albert’s Women’s Hall of Fame is back to work.

Laura Quesnell was officially inducted into the hall last night. With the induction now behind her, Quesnell, who serves as president of the P.A. Northern Bears is focused on the team’s coming playoff run.

“So, it’s prepping for that,” she said.

The Northern Bears are set to meet the Saskatoon Stars in the first round of the playoffs. The series is set to kickoff Saturday evening at the Art Hauser Centre. Looking towards the series, Quesnell said she expects it to be competitive.

She said the team is hard at work and are looking to have a strong playoff run.

“They want to be a team that makes it to the Esso Cup because they deserve to be there,” she said.

Quesnell, who is on the Esso Cup organizing committee, said work is also ramping up to get ready for the national female midget AAA tournament the city will be hosting in April. Quesnell added there is lots of work being done behind the scenes to prepare for the event.

“We’re down to the crunch line now,” she said.

With preparations for the tournament ramping up, Quesnell said she expects the event to be big for not just the team, but for the entire city.

Looking back on her induction into the women’s hall of fame, Quesnell said it was a special evening as there were many people on hand who mean a lot to her.

“It was truly amazing,” she said.
