Restricting crowd mandate means art centres have to cancel events
Art Centres across the province have been forced to cancel their events due to COVID-19. After the government of Saskatchewan restricted gatherings of 250 people or more, events that would see these types of crowds won’t be able to continue as planned.
The EA Rawlinson Centre in Prince Albert cancelled Terry Barber’s act on Friday and the Spark Theatre’s Gin and the Real Inspector Hound that would have run from March 19-21.
The Kerry Vickar Centre in Melfort postponed the Pricing Your Artwork with Ward Schell workshop on Saturday afternoon.
One of the exceptions to this are the events at the Dekker Centre for the Performing Arts in North Battleford. The Anne of Green Gables—The Ballet will go on as scheduled for Sunday at 7:30 p.m. The Dekker Centre is offering refunds or exchanges for anybody “who is ill or is uncomfortable with attending this production.”
