The PA Community Networking Coalition will be updating the public on its member’s cancelled events.

To date:

1. Notification of Postponement: March 20th, 2020 Grand Opening of the Prince Albert Early Years Family Resource Centre:

In compliance with guidelines established by Health/Govt. officials with respect to large community gatherings and the potential to contribute to the transmission of the virus causing the current outbreaks of COVID-19, we are postponing the Grand Opening of the Prince Albert Early Years Family Resource Centre that was scheduled for March 20, 2020 at the Gateway Mall. We look forward to re-scheduling this important event as soon as we are assured by the authorities that it is safe to proceed.

2. Working together with our Chamber partners, Saskatchewan Chamber and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, as we are facing fluid and extraordinary times in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic and while our area is considered a low risk area for COVID-19, effective immediately in the best interest of you, your business and our region, we are suspending all networking events until further notice. By being proactive now, and suspending events in the short term, we hope this situation is mitigated quickly.

Our office will remain open as normal. We will continue to serve you. Of course, we are always available to you and would appreciate any and all input as we navigate these challenging times. We greatly appreciate your patience and consideration. This too shall pass and we will be better individual and businesses because of it.

3. As a preventative measure with respect to mass gatherings having the potential to contribute to the transmission of respiratory pathogens, such as the virus causing the current outbreaks of COVID-19. PA Multicultural Council has decided to cancel the March 21st, 2020 Diversity Night. The rationale for the potential health risks of mass gatherings includes increased crowd density, restricted points of access/exit which force participants through high touch areas (e.g. doors, elevators). – Clients who cannot complete their application may have their EI claims backdated to cover the delay period.

– Clients who become sick during the quarantine period and collect benefits beyond this period will be required to obtain and retain a medical certificate, as for all other sickness benefits claims.

– Normal qualifying criteria for sickness benefits will apply.

– Normal interim record of employment (ROE) procedures will apply if clients state that they are not able to get their ROE.
