Meadow Lake public council meetings proceed

Mar 19, 2020 | 10:18 AM

Meadow Lake city council will proceed with public council meetings amid COVID-19 concerns.

In an email, City Clerk Jessica Walters said city administrators aim to provide daily updates daily, even if the update is to say nothing has changed.

Monday’s council meeting is planning to proceed as scheduled on March 23.

Council will disinfect the council chambers before and after the meeting, and space people out more than normal. Some councillors may also phone into the meeting rather than attend in person.

Administration is exploring options for how to handle council meetings after March 23, as council can not conduct council meetings if they are not open to the public.

If there is a decision to postpone future public council meetings, it will be made by the mayor and city manager.
