Pregnant cow moose slaughtered on private lands

Meadow Lake conservation officers are seeking public assistance in identifying those responsible for the death of a pregnant cow moose.

Officers were notified of a cow moose that was shot on private land near Rapid View during the early hours of Friday, April 3.

Officers located the kill site and found a gut pile and two fetus’. Tire tracks from newer, heavy lug tires were also found on the scene.

There was no moose season on at the time, and no permission was given to hunt on the land.

Those who report violations may be eligible for a cash reward.

Based on past history in the area, officers cannot speculate those who may be responsible.
