City staff say bulk of street drainage issues under control

When the snow begins to melt and temperatures become warmer, Meadow Lake City staff are hard at work facilitating roadway drainage.

In an email statement to meadowlakeNOW, city manager Diana Burton said staff have been steaming frozen culverts to alleviate water from pooling and ensuring all the melted snow flows through the storm system to the retention pond on the south side of the Visitor Information Centre.

“Last week we did have two contractors assisting with these efforts,” she said. “For the most part, we feel like the bulk of the drainage issues are under control.”

If members of the public wish to report an area of concern, call city hall at 306-236-3622 to report. The location will be added to the work plan.
