Update: Search efforts underway for missing 84-year-old man

UPDATE: The man has been located just outside of town. Police said he is responsive and will be taken to hospital for further observation.

Melfort RCMP are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing 84 year-old man.

Police said the man who suffers from dementia wandered away from his residence at 202 Regent St. around 2:30 a.m.

RCMP, fire and EMS are searching the south side of the city and have patrols up to Hwy 6.

The Humboldt Fire Department will be in Melfort with their drone to assist with the search efforts.

The public is being asked to check their properties, garage, sheds and vehicles in an effort to locate him.
