Precautionary drinking water advisories issued for Zenon Park, Nokomis

May 5, 2020 | 9:35 AM

Precautionary drinking water advisories (PDWA) are in place for Zenon Park and Nokomis.

As of 6 p.m. on Sunday, the town of Nokomis was placed under the water advisory due to high turbidity in the drinking water supply.

On Monday at 11 a.m., the PDWA in Zenon Park went into effect for a depressurization of the distribution system.

Both communities are required to boil all water for drinking purposes and other activities where it may be ingested such as for brushing teeth, washing fruits and vegetables, and ice cubes.

Water should also not be used for washing dishes unless it has been boiled or the dishes are sanitized in another fashion.

The PDWA’s will not be lifted until the water supply is determined to be completely safe at which time residents will be notified.
