Facebook page keeping tri-community residents connected during pandemic
A Facebook page started by local resident Ashley Roberts has become a way for those in the tri-communities to remain connected.
She started the page La Ronge At Home at the beginning of April after noticing a similar page designed for those living in Stanley Mission. She thought it would be a good idea for the area as well, so people can see what others have been up to.
“The objective was to get students and the community to post anything they are doing,” Roberts said. “We have a lot of students who are athletic, so how have they been keeping up with that? We have artsy kids as well and I was hoping that they would post their art.”
For example, some posts Roberts publishes include photos and descriptions of meals she’s cooked or information she believes could be useful for others. She also recently made a post about ghost stories and encouraged other page members to share their stories in the comments. The page has proven to be popular, Roberts explained, as residents seem to want to listen, interact and learn.
