Melfort Chase the Ace final draw to be made in June

Melfort and Community Chase the Ace will return this month for a final draw.

The weekly event was suspended back in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic but the final draw is set to be made on June 25th via Facebook live.

Committee Chair Trent Fedorychka said tickets are now for sale and will be available until draw time.

“On the day of the draw we will also do drive-by ticket sales at the Legion as well and it will be very good to get this wrapped up and get someone some winnings,” Fedorcyhka said.

The guaranteed jackpot is currently sitting at over $5,000. The draw will be made between 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

“If your name is drawn, then we call you and you then choose your card on a grid pattern so for example one to six or A to E and then you’d select say A1 or C6 type of thing,” Fedorychka said.

There is an email account set-up for direct etransfer for ticket purchases which is melfortkincta@gmail.com. Etransfers should include a name and phone number.

Tickets are also available at Penny’s Soup and Sandwich in the Melfort Mall.

“Sounds like this will be a lot of fun regardless of the restrictions and we are excited to get this wrapped up,” Fedorychka said.

The Chase the Ace Committee is made up of seven community groups including the Melfort Kinsmen and Kinettes, Melfort Golf and Country Club, North East Outreach Support Services, North East SPCA, Melfort and District Curling Club, Melfort Elks, and the Melfort Legion.

“This will really help out our projects and fundraising and once again thank you for your understanding and patience throughout this time,” Fedorychka said.

Most other fundraising efforts have been put on hold throughout the pandemic so the funds brought in through Chase the Ace will be a big help for all of the organizing groups.

The last Chase the Ace draw was held on March 12 where Wayne Northcott was the 20 per cent winner for the night, taking home $366.
