A North Battleford pastor is encouraging the community to honour the memory of two young children, who passed away tragically at a house fire last week, by creating a dandelion bouquet memorial to celebrate their lives.

Wesley Michael Bryant, 11, his sister Tessa Marie Bryant, 7, and their mother Tammy Fiddler were found deceased at the location on 99 Street at the 400 block on June 4. RCMP reported Thursday they believe the incident was a murder-suicide based on their investigations.

Pastor Deb McNabb of Living Faith Chapel offered a message of hope in a video she created after the community suffered what she called a terrible loss last week.

McNabb invited residents to participate in a dandelion bouquet memorial celebration to remember Wesley and Tessa.

She discussed the significance of the dandelion memorial in her online video. McNabb compares Wesley and Tessa to dandelions, which she describes as the flower of children. In her video, McNabb tells a story of an angel bringing a dandelion to God in heaven.

McNabb invited the community starting Friday to make their own dandelion bouquets and put them on their front steps, so people could be “reminded of the little angel that brought the dandelion to God, God’s message of hope, and of course the lives of Wes and Tessa Bryant– little ones that shared big, big love so freely.”

McNabb said people “need to do something to be an encouragement to one another, to add a little sunshine to our community and to be a blessing to friends and family.”

The family of Wesley and Tessa Bryant said in the obituaries for the children “it is with profound sadness” they announced their passing. Private services were planned.

The family requested memorial donations be made to the Bready School Playground Fund or the Bready School Scholarship in Memory of Tessa and Wesley. Condolences can be sent to Eternal Memories Funeral online site.
