Woman charged with drug trafficking in Maidstone

A woman is facing drug charges after being stopped near Maidstone for a driver’s licence, registration and sobriety check.

On June 16, an eastbound vehicle was stopped on Highway 16 near Maidstone and a subsequent search of the vehicle revealed one kilogram of cocaine.

Twenty-eight-year-old Amanda Casella Buyco from Edmonton was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

Casella Buyco will appear in court August 25 at 10 a.m. in Lloydminster.
