Community Ambassador Program hosting Senior Bingo at KVC

The Community Ambassador Summer Program in Melfort continues with an activity for the 60 and over crowd.

Senior Bingo will be taking place on Monday, July 20 at the Kerry Vickar Centre. Program Coordinator Kathy Gray said the idea behind the ambassador program is to have activities for everyone throughout the summer.

“We just wanted to make sure that we involved all ages,” she said. “So, we’d like to do something for that age group.”

Gray said all COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions will be in place. Those participating will have to take a COVID-19 questionnaire as they enter, hand sanitizer will be given upon entry, and tables will be spread out by eight feet. Each table will also have it’s own set of bingo cards.

“We’ve asked that they register early,” Gray said. “We have spaces for 26 so we can keep it under 30 indoors.”

Those interested can register by calling the Northern Lights Palace Pool at (306) 752-7200, calling the KVC at (306) 752-4177, or emailing either of those venues as well at pool@melfort.ca or kvc@melfort.ca.

Gray added they are trying to organize a few more activities like this including a card tournament, and a musical afternoon geared towards seniors. She said anyone with ideas can get ahold of her.
