Almost 20 new cases of COVID-19

There are 19 new cases of COVID-19 reported in the province today, bringing Saskatchewan’s total to 962 cases.

There is one new case in the North, eight in the central region, five in the South, and five in the Saskatoon region.

Of the 962 cases, 145 are considered active. There have been 802 recoveries.

There are 10 people hospitalized. Seven are receiving inpatient care with five in Saskatoon, one in the South and one in the North. Three people are in the intensive care unit, with two in Saskatoon and one in the South.

Of the total cases, 184 are travellers, 519 are community contacts (including mass gatherings), 167 have no known exposures and 92 remain under investigation by local public health.

Across the province, 58 cases are health care workers (although not all sourced their infections at work), 340 are from the Far North, 211 are from the Saskatoon area, 124 are from the North, 120 are from the South, 87 are from the Regina area and 80 are from the central region.

There are 133 cases involving people 19 years old and under.

There are 331 cases in the 20 to 39 age range, 300 in the 40 to 59 age range, 167 in the 60 to 79 age range and 31 are in the 80-plus age range.

Fifty-one per cent of cases are females and 49 per cent are males.

There have been 15 deaths related to COVID-19 reported to date.

To date 82,943 tests have been performed in the province. The province has made testing available to anyone who requests it.
