A local resident is filing her second police report over the last week after multiple occurrences of vehicle damage in Meadow Lake.

Local resident Gwen King woke up Thursday morning to find her daughter’s vehicle taillight smashed. She told meadowlakeNOW this is her fourth experience with overnight property damage in the city within the last seven days with her daughter’s vehicle being the most recent target.

“Yesterday [July 22] we woke up to my daughter’s vehicle with a smashed tail light in the morning,” King said. “A neighbour as well had a smashed tail light and a window almost broken through on his vehicle.”

Also on Thursday, King said she found her other daughter’s vehicle’s window shattered from a rock. The vehicle was parked on the street under a streetlamp. Back on July 18, her other daughter’s vehicle was parked in her driveway where a laptop and cellphone were reported missing.

The occurrences took place between Jubilee School and Westview Park located at 4th Ave West and 6th Street West. Meadow Lake RCMP stated the city has had a few mischiefs lately though did not immediately provide additional details.

King also noted she witnessed her neighbours experience damage to their vehicles on two separate occasions this week. She is particularly bothered as she says both of her daughters worked hard to purchase their vehicles. King said she intends to document the property damage details for police.

According to the SGI website, there is no need to report random acts of vandalism or intentional malicious acts to police if the individual(s) are not identifiable.
