Sasktip looking for information about elk found southwest of Kelvington
Jul 29, 2020 | 11:37 AM
A poaching incident earlier this month has Sasktip looking to the public for assistance.
On Saturday, July 18, conservation officers received a call about a bull elk lying dead in a field southwest of Kelvington. The elk was found four miles east of Highway 35, and 1.5 miles south of Highway 49.
Investigation determined the elk was shot earlier that day, sometime between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. by a small caliber rifle and was left for waste. There was no elk season at that time.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Turn-in-Poachers line at 1-800-667-7561.
