Hoback postpones two of four northeast drive-thru barbecues due to COVID-19 cases in RM of Star City
Residents in Melfort and Tisdale will need to wait a while longer before they can see their member of parliament (MP) face to face once more.
Prince Albert MP Randy Hoback postponed his drive-thru barbecue meetups in Melfort and Tisdale, originally set for Aug. 6 and 7 respectively, citing the outbreak of COVID-19 cases within the region as the reason why. On Wednesday, July 29, the Government of Saskatchewan confirmed 44 COVID-19 cases were in the RM of Star City.
The drive-thru barbecues in Nipawin on Aug. 4 and in Carrot River on Aug. 5 will still take place. Funds raised from Nipawin’s barbecue will go towards the Senior Citizens Club, while Carrot River’s will go to Pioneer Place.
Hoback said he is looking forward to touch base with people face-to-face, after months of virtual discussions via Zoom.
