SHA hires nine new doctors and nurse in Meadow Lake area

The Saskatc​​hewan Health Authority (SHA) announced the hiring of nine new physicians and one nurse practitioner for the Meadow Lake area providing services at both the medical clinic and hospital.

Dr. Umber Arain, Dr. Maryam Bahramarsharif, Dr. Reza Jalaeian Taghaddomi, Dr. Reed Gillanders, Dr. Andrew Arndt, Dr. Anna Redekop, Dr. Aimee Seguin, Dr. Stephen Loden, Dr. Gareth Meyer and nurse practitioner Nicole Marshall have joined the local team, meaning a full physician complement is now in place.

According to a release, the departure of a numb​​​er of physicians over the past year led to challenges in maintaining clinical services.

“I would really like to thank the local teams for their commitment a​nd extraordinary effort while we were recruiting,” Dr. Stephanie Young, SHA Physician Executive with Integrated Northern Health said in a media release. “In addition, we thank the public for their understanding and for utilizing some of the alternate options that were available for services.”

Primary Care Clinics continue to remain open during the COVID-19 pandemic with both in-person and phone-in appointments available.
